## What the Artbrain integration does

Artbrain is a personalisation engine for the art and collectibles market, built for auction houses and art galleries. From a house's history of bids, purchases and consignments, it builds an interest profile for each collector and recommends the items they are most likely to bid on, for personalised emails and other outreach. Selloff supplies the auction part of that history: the bids and sales of each sale, in an Excel file laid out for Artbrain.

## How it works

1. In **Settings › Integrations › Artbrain**, the Account Owner or an admin turns on **Enable bids export for Artbrain**.
2. On the **Bids overview** of a sale, an **Export Artbrain bids** button appears next to the usual bid exports.
3. Selloff downloads an XLSX file named after the sale number. It covers every catalogue of the sale, with one row per absentee bid, live bid and sale: sale number and date, lot number and lot reference, bid amount or hammer price, and the bidder's client number and email address.
4. You then upload the file to Artbrain. Selloff does not connect to Artbrain directly.

Cancelled bids and bids not linked to a client record are left out, as are phone bids and OR bids. Export each sale once it is over, so that Artbrain works from your latest results.

## Frequently asked questions

### Does Selloff send data to Artbrain automatically?

No. Selloff produces the file, and you decide when to export it and pass it on to Artbrain. There is no API connection between the two systems: nothing leaves Selloff until you download the file.

### What client data does the Artbrain export contain?

For each bid or sale, the client number and email address of the bidder. Names, postal addresses and phone numbers are not in the file. The other columns describe the sale and the lot: sale number and date, lot number, lot reference, and the bid amount or hammer price.

### Who can switch on the Artbrain export?

The Account Owner or an admin, in **Settings › Integrations › Artbrain**. Once it is on, the **Export Artbrain bids** button appears on the bids overview of every sale.
