Privacy policy

This policy explains which personal data the Selloff website collects and why.

The controller is Octoplus Solutions Sàrl, 29 boulevard d'Yvoy, 1205 Geneva, Switzerland. The website is hosted by Infomaniak Network SA, Rue Eugène Marziano 25, 1227 Les Acacias (GE), Switzerland.

Data we collect

• Demo requests: name, email, auction house, phone (optional) and message, used to answer your request and organise the demo.
• Newsletter: your email address and language, used to send release notes. Subscriptions are handled by Mailchimp with double opt-in; you can unsubscribe from any email.
• Roadmap votes: an optional email and auction-house name. Votes are counted in our internal support tool; an email is only kept if you allow us to contact you. We never store your IP address in clear — only a one-way hash used to prevent duplicate votes.
• Audience measurement: pages viewed, words searched for on the site, forms sent and roadmap votes (not their content), referring site, browser, device type and anonymised IP address, collected with Matomo (see below).
• Technical data: standard server logs (IP address, browser, pages requested) kept for security and troubleshooting.

Audience measurement

We measure visits with Matomo, an open-source analytics tool that we host ourselves. It shows us which pages are useful, what visitors search for and which pages lead to a demo request, so we can improve the site. This data is not shared with third parties, not used for advertising and not combined with other data.

• Without cookies (if you refuse cookies or have not chosen yet): Matomo counts your visit without storing anything on your device. Its temporary visit identifier changes every 24 hours, so a visit cannot be linked to your earlier ones. This measurement relies on our legitimate interest in improving the site.
• With cookies (only if you accept them): Matomo also recognises you when you come back, so we can count returning visitors.

IP addresses are anonymised before they are stored.

You can change your choice at any time with Cookie settings at the bottom of every page.

Cookies

The website uses no advertising or third-party cookies. Matomo cookies are only set with your consent; the others are needed for the site to work and to remember your choices.

You can ask to access, correct or delete your data, or object to its processing, by writing to info@selloff.auction. We apply the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (nFADP) and, where applicable, the EU GDPR.
