Bid import from platforms

Bring bids, results and registrations from Drouot, Sixbid, Numisbids, Philasearch, Biddr and Excel files into your sale, with contact matching and a review step.

Bid import from platforms

One sale, many bidding platforms

Online platforms collect absentee bids for your sale; Selloff brings them into the same book as the bids you record yourself. Imports run from the sale's bid import page:

  • By API: absentee bids from Sixbid, Numisbids, Philasearch and Biddr, fetched for the platform's sale ID. Results can also be imported from Biddr and Drouot, and bidder registrations from Drouot.
  • By file: results exported from ATG or Auction Mobility, Auction Mobility registrations, and any other source through an Excel template in which the required columns are highlighted.

Review before import

Every import goes through a review screen before anything is saved. Selloff matches each bidder to an existing contact through the reference stored for that platform, suggests similar contacts when there is no exact match, and lets you create a new contact or link to an existing one. Countries are mapped where needed, platform bidder numbers can be kept, and bids that fall between two increments can be rounded up to the next step.

An import history records who imported what and when, with any errors and warnings. When results are imported into a sale that already has sales recorded, Selloff asks for confirmation first.

Platform fees and control

Each platform is linked to a bid origin. Every bid keeps its origin, which shows what each platform brings to the sale. An origin can carry fees per lot sold (a percentage, a fixed amount per lot or a one-off amount) that are added automatically when the buyer is invoiced. For extra control, imported bids can require confirmation by a second user.

Who uses it

Sale administrators import bids before the live sale, after each platform has closed its absentee bidding. For numismatic and philatelic sales, bids from several of these platforms can be combined in the same sale.

Frequently asked questions

Which platforms can Selloff import bids from?

Absentee bids are imported by API from Sixbid, Numisbids, Philasearch and Biddr, results from Biddr and Drouot, and bidder registrations from Drouot. Results exported from ATG and Auction Mobility, and Auction Mobility registrations, are imported by file. Any other source can be imported with the Excel template available on the import page.

What happens when an imported bidder is not yet in my contacts?

The review screen suggests similar existing contacts. You link the bidder to one of them or create a new contact, and the platform's reference is stored on the contact so that the next import matches automatically.

Can platform commissions be passed on to buyers?

Yes. Each platform is linked to a bid origin that can carry a percentage or a fixed fee per lot sold. Selloff adds these fees to the buyer's invoice automatically when it is created.
