Selloff supports fine art and antiques auction houses from appraisal and consignment to catalogue, live sale, invoicing and consignor settlement, with exports to Drouot and Interenchères.
Fine art and antiques auctions, from valuation day to consignor settlement
Valuation days and house visits produce appraisals, some of which turn into consignments. Selloff records appraisals with their items and can bring appraised items into lots without re-typing.
Paintings, furniture, silver, jewellery and Asian art can share the same catalogue. Taxonomies, tags and renameable fields let each department describe its lots properly.
Estates are often handled by an heir, an executor or a notary. A consignment can name a representative, to whom communications are addressed.
Seller terms vary from one consignment, or one lot, to the next. Selloff applies per-lot commissions and VAT types, and settles consignors from the paid invoices.
A general or fine art auction house handles a wide range of objects, clients and paperwork: valuations, estates, consignment receipts, catalogues, sale-room bidding, invoices and settlements. Selloff links these steps so that information entered once is reused throughout.
Appraisals made on valuation days or at a client's home are recorded in Selloff with their items, which can then be brought into lots without re-typing when the client decides to sell. For estates, a consignment can name a representative, such as an executor or notary, to whom communications are sent. Each consignor has a single record with all receipts, lots and settlements (consignor management).
Taxonomies and tags adapt the lot record to each department, and every lot carries its estimates, printed estimate and reserve (estimates & reserves). Catalogues can be exported to Drouot and Interenchères, and the Drouot registrations and results imported back. During a live sale, absentee and phone bids sit in the auctioneer's book, and online bidders can follow through Redpoint Live Auction.
Buyers are invoiced with buyer's premium and VAT, and can pay online. Commissions can differ per lot, and consignor settlements are produced from the paid invoices. Outgoing payments to consignors can be exported as an e-banking payment file.
