Numismatics

Numismatics

Selloff helps numismatic auction houses catalogue coins with reference numbers, import bids from NumisBids, Sixbid and Biddr, and invoice large sales quickly.

Coin, medal and banknote auctions, catalogued precisely and invoiced fast

01

Reference numbers on every coin

Collectors search by standard references and expect them in the catalogue. Each Selloff lot stores a reference catalogue, a reference and a catalogue value, plus configurable fields for metal, weight or grade.

02

Bids from several platforms

Absentee bids arrive on NumisBids, Sixbid and Biddr as well as by email and phone. Selloff imports platform bid sheets through their APIs, matches bidders to existing clients and keeps a single book.

03

Long catalogues, many photos

A coin sale can run to thousands of lots, each with obverse and reverse images. Bulk photo import, checks for missing required views and automatic catalogue numbering keep the preparation under control.

04

Invoices right after the hammer

Buyers expect their invoices quickly. Selloff invoices all buyers of a sale in one run, with buyer’s premium, VAT and shipping, and adds a payment link for online payment.

Built for numismatic auction houses

Coin auctions combine long catalogues, precise attributions and bidders spread across several online platforms. Selloff brings consignment, cataloguing, bidding, invoicing and shipping into one system: a coin described once flows through to the catalogue, the auctioneer's book, the invoice and the shipping slip.

Cataloguing coins

Lots are created from the consignor's receipt, with a title and description plus an alternative title and description, for example for a second language. Each lot records a reference catalogue, a reference number and a catalogue value, and up to ten additional fields that you name yourself, for example metal, weight, diameter or grade. Photos are imported in bulk, and image checks flag lots missing a required view such as the reverse. Catalogue building then orders and numbers the lots and produces the PDF catalogue.

Bids from NumisBids, Sixbid and Biddr

Numismatic buyers bid on specialist platforms. Selloff connects to NumisBids, Sixbid and Biddr through their APIs: bid sheets are imported into the sale, bidders are matched to existing clients or created, and each bid keeps its origin. Bids placed on your own website through the WordPress plugin land in the same book.

After the sale

Automatic invoicing bills every buyer of the sale in one run, with buyer's premium, VAT and shipping. Buyers can pay online, shipments are packed by scanning lot barcodes, and consignor settlements are calculated from the same data. Selloff also supports fixed-price sales, which suits houses that sell coins and bullion outside their auctions.

Selloff is used by numismatic houses such as Maison Gadoury, Maison Palombo, Numisor and Rumnicoin.

Frequently asked questions

Can Selloff import bids from NumisBids, Sixbid and Biddr?

Yes. For each platform you enter the API credentials once, then import the bid sheets of a sale in a few clicks. Selloff matches each bidder to an existing client or proposes a new contact, and only picks up bid sheets placed since the previous import.

How do I record reference numbers for coins?

Each lot has a reference catalogue, chosen from the list you maintain in the settings, a catalogue reference and a catalogue value. Additional fields, which you can rename, hold details such as metal, weight or grade.

Can I sell coins at fixed prices as well as at auction?

Yes. Besides live and timed online auctions, Selloff supports fixed-price sales and sales by offers, using the same lots, clients, invoicing and shipping.
